The time remaining is not decreasing automatically

I am working with our development team on resolving some timing issues. We discovered that the remaining balance does not update automatically with existing issues. If we create a new one/clone an issue, the field works as expected. We have tickets we would like to update, but the remaining time is not changing. Any feedback you can provide will be helpful.

How are your users logging time?

They are going to More > Log Work ... some are also using edit.

Good, that's simple then.  Can you

1. Check whether this is just on the task, or the subtasks, and line it up with the check-box to show/hide them (just sllightly below where you stopped the screenshot)
2. Add a work log, then edit the issue and check again - does that update it?
