Test step panel is not loading in jira test case

I have created new issue with issue type = Test case. Fill the default fields and click the create button.  Test case is created and I cannot see the "Test Step" panel. As per the following article it says that "Test Step will automatically display" https://doc.go2group.com/display/SRT6/Creating+Test+Case+from+JIRA 

Also note that we are using Kanban project in jira. 

Appreciate help to solve this problem.
