Team admin is not visible

I am an Agile coach; I need to ask the admin of a team to make changes to their team profile in regards to parent team. I am not a team member nor do I wish to be added as a team member.  The admin of these teams is not visible unless i request to join the team. Please change this so people can see who the admin is of a team. I have wasted a day guessing who the admin is and now I am doing exactly what I did not want to do - request to join multiple teams just so i know who to reach out to. Why does the admin need to be a state secret?

The good news is you don't need to join anything, and you probably don't even need to hunt down the individual team admin. An organization admin can open any team profile without being a member and edit it directly, including setting the parent team you mentioned.

I would route it like this:

• Ask an org admin to open the team profile
• They open it via the Teams dropdown > Search people and teams
• On a team they are not in, they will see extra edit options in the left sidebar
• From there, they can set the parent team, or tell you who the team admin is

One trap to flag. Being a site admin or Jira admin is not enough here. Only organization admins (or user access admins) can manage teams they are not part of, so make sure you reach the right person.

Since your post is really a product suggestion, I would also raise it on Atlassian's public feature request site (https://jira.atlassian.com/issues/)rather than only here, because the Community question queue here is not where the product team tracks change requests. That gives it a place where others can vote and where a product manager will actually see it.

Do you already know who your organization admins are, or would it help if I pointed you to how to find them?
