Hello, I see the swimlines are the way to horizonzally group work items in a Kanban Board. I would like to have my work items sorted by the component they are using, but i see this option is not available within the default ones. I tried querying the components but i would need to type each one by one as "component" = component1, etc.
Is there any possibility to organize my board by components without needing to query each of them manually? Thank you
I totally get the frustration with manual JQL queries for every component! While there isn't a single 'one-click' button for dynamic component swimlines yet, you can often achieve a cleaner view by using the 'Assignee' or 'Epic' swimline defaults if those align with your team's structure.
You are correct: the only built-in option currently is using JQL filters for each value (plus one for no values assigned).
Other than marketplace apps, there a very old suggestion in JAC asking for more configurable swim lanes, including by Component: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-91263
Kind regards,
Bill

Hi @Almudena Milans del Bosch
good question! But as you've already figured out, it's not possible by default and if you selected Queries as option, you'd have to provide a JQL query for each Component. Which might be good as a workaround, considering there's no alternative.
This feature alone might not suffice an app, but you can search the Atlassian Marketplace for apps arounds boards and maybe you'll find an app that provides valuable additions along with this feature.
Greetings
Philipp
