Swimlane config on a classic business project

I know the swimlane configuration on a classic business project is limited, but is there a way to hide a status so the swimlane isn't displayed on the board? I'm using it for a project that has issues that may be put "on hold" from time to time and I'd like to be able to move issues to that status but not show them on the board (we have enough swimlanes already and another one would just cramp the board further)?

Hi @Dennis_H 

I do not believe there is a way to do that with a business project (JIRA core).  The business projects are by-design, simple and lightweight.  Some the features from software projects which would help you (e.g. quick filters) are not supported.

Could you remove the status and use another way to indicate on-hold, and so eliminate the swim lane?  As you have described the situation, it does not sound like on-hold is a normal part of your workflow; it is an exceptional condition.
