Suppressing internal IDs from the History tab

When viewing an issue's history, the internal ID #'s display in brackets. Is there a way to suppress this information? See attachment for an example.

The image is tiny and I can not see it. I assume that this is a custom field called Internal ID? If so, there is no way to suppress this. The change tracking is a core functionality of JIRA.
