Support Expiry : Our options

Deleted user May 11, 2018

Hello all

Our JIRA Support expires on 10 JUN 2018. I have these questions :

1. We are currently using JIRA version 7.4.2. Does our JIRA Support allow us to upgrade to Jira version 7.9 ?

2. What happens after 10 June 2018? Am I just not allowed to raise support issues with Atlassian for JIRA?

Please help

You can upgrade to any version of Jira released before the end of your licence.

Imagine the release schedule is:

  • 7.9 - current
  • 7.10 - released 9th June 2018
  • 7.11 - released 11th June 2018

You can upgrade to 7.9 now or any time in the future.  Same for 7.10, even after the 10th, you could go to 7.10 in 2020 if you felt like it.  But you cannot upgrade to 7.11 because your licence expired on the 10th.

The effect of letting the licence lapse is broadly three things:

  • Your admins will see some warnings about an expired licence
  • You will not be able to upgrade past the last release in your licence time as above
  • As you suspect, you will not be able to raise support calls with Atlassian (although you can still ask for help here)
