Can an automation be triggered if a subtask was created? I am using the free plan, and I'd like to know if I can change the category when a subtask is created such that there will be a default value. Thanks!

Alone with the trigger, no. If you add a condition of Issue Type to be equal to Sub-task then yes.
Yes, your automation can trigger on subtasks created, just treat is as a regular work item. Then just add a condition that checks if the work item is a subtask.

ahh, i see it now. i got an error that the custom field I created called Category is not found.
We excluded the configured field from this action as it couldn't be found:
Category
No fields or field values to edit for work items (could be due to some field values not existing in a given project):

It is strange, coz when I picked up Category, it showed a dropdown list and i just picked it from there. Any ideas? Chatgpt didn't help.
