I would ask my admin to log a ticket, but even they loathe dealing with Atlassian enough to not bother.
I have two issues that piss me off DAILY.
1. Open a ticket with an image in it, doesnt load, have to refresh the page for it to load. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
2. when I click on a subtask link, it opens, then redirects automatically to open the parent ticket. So I have to click on it again.
Is there a fix on the way? Are they done stuffing around with the UX/UI to make it stable again?
Yeah, that would drive anyone up the wall. The fact that it happens consistently points less to “bad luck” and more to a browser/session/cache issue or an Atlassian-side frontend bug. The quickest things to try are: open Jira in an incognito window (if it works there, it’s almost always an extension or cached site data), then clear site data for your Jira domain and temporarily disable extensions (ad blockers/privacy tools often break image loading). For the subtask redirect, it’s often caused by a UI setting or script conflict—trying another browser/profile can confirm that fast. If it still happens across browsers, it likely needs an Atlassian ticket because it can be tied to a specific Jira build, app, or customization in your instance. I know your admins don’t want to, but sending them a short repro (browser/version + steps + a screen recording) is usually what gets it fixed.
@Stephen Atkinson welcome to the Atlassian community
I would ask first when is the last time that you cleared your browsers cache? Also are both these issues having in multiple browsers?
1. How large is the image? Is it doing the same for other users?
2. Can you provide a little more information so I can try and recreate. Where are you clicking the sub-task link? Does it happen every time you click any sub-task link?
