Subtask icon not showing for some work items in the backlog

This issue started occurring on November 3. When I create subtasks, the subtask icon no longer appears at the end of the parent issue’s summary in the Backlog view.

This behavior also affects the board, as those parent issues are treated as if they have no subtasks.
I’m using a Team-managed project with the Scrum template.

Hi All, 

If the backlog/board contains over 5000 subtasks, the subtask display is inconsistent, as only the first 5000 subtasks are loaded and shown. This is identified as a bug and raised it here: JRACLOUD-96676 :inconsistent display of subtasks If there are many subtasks under work items

I tried to replicate the issue you are having and everything worked well from my side. Have you cleared your cache, tried in incognito? Also, open your developer console of your browser, click on the pick element button and hover over the empty area, is something showing there or is it empty?

I've just tried in incognito mode, but the problem still exists.
I also tested it on my laptop and a friend’s PC, and the same issue occurs.
Even when I hover over the area, nothing appears. As you can see in the image below, only the edit button shows up when I hover over that area.
