Sub-task automatically added to completed sprint - how to remove?

We closed a sprint and had a story that carried over.  We added sub-tasks and later saw that they were assigned to both the completed sprint and the active sprint.  Given these didn't exist in the completed sprint - they should not be tagged as such.

Attempting to remedy it via the Bulk Edit DOES NOT work as the Change Sprint field states "Inherited from parent."

Guidance as to how to remove a sprint from a sub-task would be appreciated.  Thanks.

You don't.  Jira is doing the right thing here.

You had a Story in a sprint, then the story is carried over to another sprint.  The Story has been in both sprints, so so were the sub-tasks because they're part of it.  Whether they existed or not in the first sprint is irrelevant because they are part of a Story that was in that sprint.
