Stop Jira ticket status being updated as result of GitLab changes

We have an integration between GitLab and Jira (where Jira tickets will show commits, branches etc).
We've recently encountered two instances where a status of a Jira ticket has been updated (e.g. moved from Code Review to another status), as a result of the issue being "solved by commit". See screenshot.
We like getting the updates on the tickets from what happens in GitLab, but we don't want the status to change as a result.
Does anyone have any advice on how stop the status being changed? We can't work out why it's happening.
