I want to migrate data from Jira Datacenter to Jira Cloud. Can anyone provide which plugin we use for this and can we done this migration without any plugin.
Hi @Adesh Kokate and welcome to the community!
The link that @Rik de Valk _Brainboss_ provided will help you a long way in setting up a cloud environment and move the actual spaces in Confluence and Jira to Cloud.
Some things you should pay extra attention to:
Some app functionality might be replaced by Automations in Jira and Confluence
Other than that I can only recommend you start early and do some test migrations of projects to get familiar with the possibilities in cloud sinde it is quite different from Datacenter.
Best regards,
/Staffan
Hi @Adesh Kokate ,
You can find the guides from Atlassian here: https://www.atlassian.com/migration/plan/cloud-guide#introduction
It includes information about the Cloud Migration App they provide.
If you don't have experience with migrations and your Jira instance is important to your organisation, you might want to hire help from a solutino partner.
Have a nice day!
Rik

Hey @Adesh Kokate
You basically have two paths when migrating from Jira Data Center to Jira Cloud:
1. Without a plugin
It's possible to migrate without any plugin, but with limitations:
2. Using a migration tool
For most real-world cases, teams use a plugin or third-party app because it:
Besides Atlassian’s native migration tools, there are also Marketplace apps focused specifically on Data Center to Cloud migrations.
I work at Getint, and it’s one of the no-code tools teams use when they need more control over mappings, incremental migration, or post-migration synchronization between DC and Cloud during transition periods. Because the tool is flexible depending on your needs, you can choose migration path besides an integration option.
PS: If you want a structured overview of the whole process of migration (planning, execution, and validation), check this article which I prepared a while ago.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a successful migration, regardless of which option you choose!
