Status and assignments don't always update for all users to see

We are having a problem with the board not updating for all users when someone assigns a task to themselves or changes the status of a task. This is an example where the task was changed to In Progress but for me it still showed Incomplete. 

We both tried refreshing the windows multiple times and close them several times, too, before I was able to see the In Progress status.

The top of the snip shows her screen and the bottom  part shows what I was seeing on mine. 

I've also had issues with the assignments not taking, so that I may change the task to my name, but no one else can see that it is now assigned to me.

Any suggestions?

Are you on the Atlassian hosted version? I have seen this on the self hosted data center version when the index is not keeping up on syncing across the nodes. No idea if you are on the cloud version.
