Statistic Type in Heat map gadget

Hello Folks,

While creating a dashboard in Jira cloud & using Heat Map gadget,

Statistic Type doesn't list all fields available in the project.

Looks like only a sub-set of fields of certain type can be chosen.

Couldn't find any documentation on the same.

Request you to help if there is any limitation on which fields can be chosen & where can i find more details on this.

Hi @Vibhor Kumar Agarwal,

Most gadgets presenting statistics in some form (a chart, a heatmap, ...) only support custom fields that have predefined data, such as:

• user custom fields
• labels
• components
• select lists

Text fields and (some) custom fields that belong to marketplace apps tend to be unsupported as it does not make sense to use them for grouping data. I am not sure what (type of) field you were hoping to find, but I would not be surprised if it is in either of those categories.

Yup, that's a text field.

Do we have this documented somewhere which i can point to end users?

Not as far as I know, but the logic is quite simple: you can only use the fields offered by the gadget. If a field isn't there, it is because it is not supported and supported fields for statistics have predefined / structured values.
