cant start sprint in jira cloud. I have manage sprint permission as a project lead.
What can be the problem here.
Hello @Stanislav
While your board may be limited to specific projects, it is possible that issues from unrelated projects have been added to the Sprint the user is trying to start.
Go to the Issue Search screen and search for all issues where the Sprint field is set to the name of the sprint you are trying to start. Examine the output for issues that are in projects that are not included in your board.
If such issues are in the sprint and the user does not have permission to manage sprints in the projects to which those issues belong, then the issues need to be removed from the sprint or the user granted permission in the other project(s).

Hi @Stanislav ,
I don't understand the screenshot, but most often this is a permissions problem. You need the right permissions for every project in the scope of your board.
More detail can be found in earlier answers on the community like this one.
Good luck!

@Stanislav , can you translate the error message and share it?
You should have the manage sprint permission for all the projects that are included in the board.. do you have?

"You need to have permission to manage sprint in order to start or close sprint"
But user have permission in the project to manage the sprint

In the board's configuration, can you check how many projects are listed in the board's filter?
A screenshot of that section would be helpful to guide further

@Stanislav , what is the filter query?
When you run it in issue navigator, does it return issues from the DL_...&_DevOps project only? Can you specifically add the user to the 'manage sprints' permission of the project (other than inheriting it as project lead)?

@Stanislav , the permission scheme being shared with other projects shouldnt impact.
Can you try with a different user? Are all the users facing the same issue?

@Fazila Ashraf I dont face this as a jira admin(i can start sprint), the problem may be in a user
What kind of problem it can be?

@Stanislav , from my experience it is always the permission.
You have mentioned that the board is scoped only to one project and the user has manage sprint permission to that project. If that was the case, the error wouldnt appear.
I would advise you to double check and also have another user try the same with the same level of permission.

@Stanislav , but that doesnt make sense.. If only site administrators can start the sprint, then how many users will you add as site administrators?!
Note that it is a powerful role..

@Fazila AshrafSorry thats my role.
For that user who got the problem i choose role "Trusted" second one.
And that works.

hmm.. i just read about trusted role.. that is also a powerful role.. I wouldnt be comfortable giving that access to the users just so that they can start the sprint..
Glad that it helped your user.. But i would suggest you to dig more
