Sprints Displayed on an Issue

Trying to understand rationale used to determine which sprints are displayed on an issue.

I have an issue that has moved between numerous sprints (see details below). However, only two sprints (S149 and S151) are shown in the issue when viewing it.

I suspect this is related to this ticket - "See all the sprints a tickets has been in, and see it on the ticket" https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/See-all-the-sprints-a-tickets-has-been-in-and-see-it-on-the/qaq-p/2072143 That answer mentions moving to the backlog before closing the sprint.

Is the same true for moving an issue between sprints before closing the sprint; i.e.,

* If you close the sprint and chose move open issues to backlog/next sprint, the 'original' sprint will appear on the issue,

* If you know you will not complete an issue and move it to backlog or different sprint before closing the sprint, the 'original' sprint will not appear on the issue.
