Sprint shared between two projects

Deleted user December 15, 2014

Hi

One of my clieny two projects Project A and Project B. They have two boards Project A Board and Project B board filtering respective issues.

Both the projects have been assigned to same Sprint as in I can see that sprint id's are same and when they are trying to 'Complete Sprint' they get an error ' You need to have Project administrator access to 15000, Project A and Project B'.

Also as a JIRA admin when I try to complete sprint I get a message saying X issues 'Done' and Y issues pending. we have tried to change the filter close all Y issues, still no luck?

I have given them admin access for both access. Can any one help with this? Can we have same Sprints across projects?

thanks

Usha

You need to make sure that your project owner has admin rights on ALL the projects that contain issues that are in that sprint.

It lists three projects in your error message, one of which the user cannot see at all, so all it can do is give you the project ID

Hi Usha,

Yes and no. If you add an issue from project A to a sprint from project B boards, then yes, the sprint will be visible in both boards. However, in the API, the Sprint has only one board as parent. In your case you may want to avoid this situation. The sprint is now containing issues from 2 different projects and probably your users have access to only one project. This is a bug IMHO, but it seems there are more urgent tasks as this doesn't seem to be high in their backlog.

Best regards,

Silviu

As Nic said, there are 3 projects actually. Please check the 3rd project permissions.

Hello Usha,

Have you given admin rights for those users in this board configurations?

Some how there is a difference if you have admin rights given for both projects in Project Administration and separately in Agile Board Configure (General section).

Best regards,

Lena
