Hi,
I've seen very old posts on the subjects so wanted to check if there was any update on this? Getting the burndown by count of subtasks is such a basic feature I can't believe it's not available in Jira. I've seen 3rd party plugins on the marketplace but IMO it should be a built-in Jira feature.
I've read some answers to past similar requests that completely missed the point, arguing that tracking at subtask level didn't make sense because stories are not done until all the subtasks are completed (which is true but just unrelated to the question). Please don't answer if this is your answer.
Thanks

No, this has not changed and it is not going to. Sub-tasks are not sprint items, so you do not burn down on them.
Hi @Antoine Hubert,
Unfortunately this is still not available in Jira, and most likely will not be added soon.
We also use subtasks in our own projects. Not all the projects are the same, and agile has many flavors when it is about the way it is implemented. So your request is perfectly valid.
Maybe it's time to consider investing in an add-on that solves this problem and will greatly help you track projects. Not only for you, but for your entire organization.
Our Great Gadgets app offers all the gadgets necessary to track projects by sub-tasks. Not only sprint burndown, but also team-velocity, release-burndown with forecast and many others.
Hope this helps.
Danut.
