Hello. A week or two ago our sprint ID started increasing by 33 instead of usual 1.
I exported the list of sprints and their IDs using REST API and on the image below you can clearly see that IDs started incrementing by 33 instead of 1.
I can confirm that nobody created 32 sprints in between and then just deleted them and that no new plugins were installed in that period.
Is anybody else experiencing this? What could be the cause and how to fix this?
Hi @Ihor Kolosov,
Welcome to Atlassian Community!
Do you only have one project or multiple ones? What you see is normal if you have multiple projects that are using sprints. There is nothing on your end that you can do to change the behavior, the Sprint Ids are created automatically by Jira.
I can confirm that there is just one more project, but that project is not using sprints, and there was no activity in that project for at least half a year whilst ID's started increasing incorrectly about a week or two ago.

I can add that I have exactly the same problem. Suddenly for 3 Sprints ago, approx. 22 Feb, the ID had incremented by 33 from 1 Sprint to an other. We have also additional projects, but none of them are in use. Only 1 project is "alive", so it should and have been until a month ago only increment the ID by 1.
Guess there is something fishy going on:)

Morgan

@Morgan Thornberg Thank you. I thought I was already losing my mind. I'm glad I'm not the only one with the issue 😅

@Ihor Kolosov Same here, I thought I had messed something up without actually doing anything, so I was really glad to find that I wasn´t the only one too.😅.

I've used Jira for 10+ years and have never seen this happen until a couple months ago. I've always been in environments where we had multiple projects, but have not see the numbers increment by more than 1. Mine are incrementing by >100 even though I only use one project for creating a sprint. It's inconvenient because I can't guess the sprint number and have to go look it up each time.
Glad I'm not going crazy!

I just re-checked and there is still no defect for this symptom in the public Jira or Ecosystem backlogs since this first appeared.
I recommend working with your Jira Site Admin to submit a ticket to Atlassian Support to take a look: https://support.atlassian.com/contact/#/
When you hear back from them, please post what you learn to benefit the community. Thanks!
Kind regards,
Bill
