Small group license in parallel to other licenses

Small group license in parallel to other licenses

Our company would like to create a Jira instance for a small user group (<10 users).

We are unsure whether or not our company might have purchased other Jira licenses, so we would like to go sure:

Is it possible to buy and use a small group license to use it separately from other existing instances? Or do we have to pay the per-user-license on any existing bigger license?

Licences are by server (until you get up into the numbers where you're looking at site licences).

You can buy a 10 user licence, but it will have to be used to run a separate 10 user server. You can't add it to an existing server to add a few more users.
