We are trying to create a slack Workflow using the JIRA Cloud Edit issue workflow to update our Jira issues, but notice that only 4 fields are able to be updated on a ticket using this workflow (Description, Summary, Priority and Assignee)
We simply want to be able to update the status of a JIRA issue, but we cannot find any way to do this. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to do this?

I haven’t used the Slack integration specifically to edit issues, but I believe the challenge here is that changing an issue’s status isn’t just a regular edit — it’s considered a transition, which follows a defined workflow. Because of that, I'm afraid it's not possible to change the status using only the Jira Cloud app in Slack.
