A week or two ago there was a UI update to Jira.
Since then Jira has been painfully slow. Every click or keyboard input takes 4 or 5 seconds to register.
- Firefox
- MacOS
- M3 Pro
- 36GB
> Are other users reporting the same issue?
Yes, me, and a lot of other users: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/Unbearably-slow-in-Firefox/qaq-p/2792975
> Have you tried another browser application?
No, not interested in running other browser. You can do your own testing to confirm which platforms/browsers are affected, Jira is not my product.
> Have you tried clearing your browser cache?
Yes, didn't help, it's horribly slow even before logging in again.
> Have you tried a private browser window?
Yes, this appears to help a bit but as a long-term workaround this is very inconvenient.
> Have you tried from a different computer?
How is this going to help? Furthermore, I believe this question has been answered by the number of reports different people have already made about this.
You can try to speed up Jira a bit, by storing the data on device, check this article: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/store-jira-data-on-your-own-device/

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Jira is not my product either. I am just another user of it.
The questions are asked to try to narrow down what might be impacting the performance from the computer in use side of the equation or the network handling the traffic.
You could have browser extensions or a full cache that impact perceived performance.
You could have memory or CPU usage issues on the computer impacting performance.
The third party apps that you use with Jira can impact performance, requiring more calls between the Jira instance and the app support services to be executed depending on the actions you are executing in Jira.
If it is affecting multiple users from the same geographic site, there could be networking issues that are impacting performance.
If you are using a company issued computer there could be software installed by your company affecting browser performance.
There could be a performance impacting active incident being experienced by Atlassian. You can check their status page at the time the problem occurs to see if that is the case.
And ultimately, if you are working with a paid subscription, your Jira administrators can open a support case directly with Atlassian support to get more assistance.
