Show popup message based on custom field

Hi Team,

I have added a web panel to show a button on the issue view screen for another functionality but whenever the user clicks on this button it should check whether the specific custom field has the value or not. if not then it should show a popup message.

Can anybody guide me on this?

Is the button you have placed on the issue view screen associated with a transition in your workflow?
