I have one central project that has issues to be completed by multiple teams. I'd like to have issues which are tagged to be completed by other teams show in their project but also remain in my central project. Is this possible?

The full detail is that I have an integration with a third-party project management tool that creates an epic and issues in one jira board. I want to write an automation that duplicates/copies/clones a specific issue to the correct team board based on a label.

All are Software Projects on company managed cloud.

By 'board' I presume you mean a dashboard. The dashboard gadgets use filters so you have a couple options; create a filter that includes issues from multiple projects or use a seperate gadget for each project.

Hello @Benjamin Mander

Third Party tool creates an Epic and issues in 1 Jira *project*.

Can you make it so that the issues show up in different *boards*? - yes, by changing boards filters to include these issues.

Can you write automation that clones issues from 1 Jira *project* to another Jira *project*? - yes, you will need global automation.

Cloning has certain limitations, but Both of the above are standard items.

So of the two options, what are you looking for so we can share some documentation/links?

Also, please note my emphasis on difference between Projects / Boards.

  • Projects are where issues exist.
  • Boards are just a view to show a collection of issues, irrespective of where the exist.
