Should my GitHub PR titles link back to my Jira instance

We use GitHub and Jira together and we have configured their integration.

I'm keen to have our GitHub PRs link back to their corresponding Jira work items and our GitHub admins appear to have followed all the right instructions.

We put our Jira work item IDs (eg. PROJ-1234) in our:

  1. PR titles
  2. Git branch names
  3. Git commit messages
  4. PR descriptions and comments

At the moment, items 2-4 in this list work well, ie. the "PROJ-1234" is automagically converted into a link to the corresponding work item, ie. oursite.atlassian.net/browse/PROJ-1234.

Unfortunately, no matter what we try, the work item ID in the PR title (item 1) does not get converted into a link.

Q: Is this supposed to happen, ie. is it supported. (A google search suggests it is.)

Q: If so, any trouble-shooting tips?

Thanks

Hi @dshaw ,

Thank you for your post. Based on official documentation should be supported: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/use-the-github-for-jira-app/
In general, I prefer to put the key in the comments anyway.

I suggest to reach the official Atlassian support to go in deep with this question.

Hope it helps
