I am trying to share a Jira dashboard with a number of different (Jira standard) widgets with my colleagues but they are getting errors on each one of these widgets. Note that as the owner/creator of the Dashboard, it displays correctly for me. I have shared individual filters with my colleagues, to no avail.
Errors are:
- Unfortunately, one or more of your preferences are now unavailable. Please update your preferences, or remove gadget by clicking delete from the title bar above
- Sorry the chart you requested could not be created. It may refer to an incorrect project or saved filter, or a project filter which you don't have permission to view
- The filter configured for this gadget could not be retrieved. Please verify it is still valid on the issue navigator
- The filter used isn't valid or is restricted
- Requested filter or project was not found
Hello @Erik d_Arbois
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
The first step is to ensure that each filter you have used in each gadget has been shared with the people who need to be able to see the data in the dashboard.
You also need to make sure that those people have access to view the work items in the Projects that are being referenced by the filters and gadgets.
After ensuring those are taken care of, let us know if your users are still getting errors.
Thanks for your reply @Trudy Claspill - I had indeed already shared filters and they have full access to the project in question. They are still getting errors.

Issue resolved; it looks like the Jira 'share' option on the filter's action bar (top left on header) doesn't work properly; user receives email as expected, but they cannot do anything with it.
Workaround is to list all filters, select the one to be used, edit it and share from there.

I'm glad you discovered the solution.
That option is a different type of sharing. That is simply sending a message to the specified user with a link to the filter. It does not actually give them permission to access the filter. I'm still looking for the documentation that actually describes that button.
It is a bit confusing that the button exists but doesn't have a clear explanation.
To actually give the users permission to access the saved filter (or a dashboard) you need to go to that item (filter or dashboard) and use the share/permissions management option available for that specific item. For a Filter that means selecting the Details > Permissions option. For a Dashboard that means clicking the ... button and selecting the Rename or share option.

Actually, the documentation for Managing Filters makes it should like using the Share button should work.
