I'm using the cloud version and suddenly we have two severity fields (the original one is visible and the new one is hidden).
When I'm running a query and I type severity only the new hidden one is shown and I get no result. If I use the field ID of the original field- I see results.
Is there any way to revert this? Also, if there a way to block these unwanted changes?
Thanks in advance!
Hi @Moran Hazan,
You can change the name of one of the custom field. In general, it is not good practice to have fields with the same name.
To change the name : Go to Administration --> Issues --> Custom Fields

Thanks for your prompt response. I would like to delete the new field that was created by the Jira system. I cannot edit the new hidden field. I also am not interested in changing the existing field I was using, since I use it in filters and I would need to modify everything.
I just wish to revert changes I didn't asked for.
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
As an admin, you can go to Admin -> Custom fields and rename or delete the new field.
You might want to talk to the admin who added it though, they probably did it for a good reason (It was not created by the system, it was one of your admins)

Thanks, I'm familiar with that. The others claim they didn't do it and I cannot find the hidden field, therefore I cannot edit it. How can I see who did what?

If you have the audit log enabled (go to admin and search for "audit"), that should record changes to the field along with who did it.
