I am looking to setup Giltab integration with Jira issues which requires user id and password/Api token, I have few queries which is about-

Can we use Jira Service accounts?

Does it have to have AD setup to send or receive notification?

Is there a way ( in house service or Rest API) we can use to rotate API token  every 6/12 months?

Please advice whats the best way to handle above scenario,

Kind Regards

Hello @Naved Shah

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Can you explain what you think a "Jira Service account" is?

Which of the Jira integration listed on the page you referenced are you needing?

You can create an account directly in Atlassian Cloud, it does not have to be created in AD.

You must provide a valid and unique email address, and you must be able to access the email inbox for that account. You will have to respond to verification messages sent to that account.

You will have to grant that account appropriate access to your Jira Cloud product and projects.

You will have to login to Atlassian Cloud as that account and create the API token manually. You can set an expiration date for the token. By default they expire after 1 year.

I am not aware of an API for creating an API token for a user.
