I'm trying to setup a company managed project. I signed into jira via google. I use google workspaces/am the admin. When I try to create a company managed project via my custom domain, jira does not give me the option to create a company managed project and says reach out to the administrator as shown below. I am the administrator....bit confused here. Do you have to pay for this feature? If I sign in with a non custom gmail account....I can create a company managed project just fine.
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Jira has several "levels" of administrator, and far too many nuances on it (annoyingly causing my "simplification" instincts to conflict with my "flexibility" instincts).
The very simple answer here is that you are not a Jira administrator, so you can't create anything more than team-managed projects.
You will need to ask your Jira or Site admins to create it for you, or make you a Jira admin.
Hi Nic,
Thanks for your response. I found the issue, been a while since I was a site admin.
Apparently if you login via a custom domain using googles auth, Atlassian doesn't prompt you to verify the domain so there was no site admin. But Atlassian wouldn't let you do much saying check with your site admin...which doesn't exist.
