Setting the predefined request type when creating an issue or chaning issue type

Hi!

I am pretty new to configuring Jira myself and I've been looking all over for a solution, that I could understand.

Question 1

When manually creating an issue (not through the customer portal), the request type is not being set.

Currently, I have two issue types. Each issue type has one request type. Now, when I create an issue it gets created without a request type.

Is it possible to set a predefined request type when creating an agent creates an issue manually?

Question 2

When an existing issue gets edited - changing the issue type, the request type is not being updated. Is it possible to automatically change the request type, when changing the issue type in an existing issue?

Q1: you can use automation to set the request type if the issue comes in thru the app I think

Q2: again, I would check the Automation capabilities.

Automation works for Q1, but not for Q2 I'm afraid.
