Setting a HelpDesk as default portal for a Project

I have a project that I would like to be visible only in a single helpdesk space - but if I go to project's settings / portal it doesn't allow me to change it.

So, how can I change this, please note that email communications always contain a link to the default portal, not to my new helpdesk that has this Project.

Hello @Vasco

Can you provide a screen image showing where you are going to attempt to make the change and explaining what happens when you try to make he change that is resulting in you being blocked.

Can you provide the details of an email communication (obscure confidential information and point out which link is always going to the default portal?

When you say you want the project visible in a single helpdesk space, do you mean a single Help Center, as in a page that shows tiles for multiple individual JSM projects?

If so, the Help Centers in with a give JSM project will appear is not managed from the project settings. Rather it is managed from a different location. Refer to

Link service projects to a help center

Hi;
Thanks for the reply.
I was able to change the message templates, to prevent them to contain a link to the default project.

The article provided is not in-line with the current Jira layout, and my sensation is that we can't remove projects from the default helpdesk.

Either way it has been solved.

While it is true that you cannot delete portals from the Default Help Center you can hide them from the customer's view:

This removes the portal visually from the landing page layout:
  1. Click the Gear icon (Settings) in the top right corner, then select Apps.
  2. From the sidebar under Jira Service Management, select Configuration.
  3. Scroll to the Help center section and click View all help centers.
  4. Select your default help center from the list.
  5. On the top navigation bar of the help center preview, click Customize and select Manage topics and portals from the dropdown menu.
  6. Hover over the specific portal you wish to hide and click the Eye icon (Hide from home page).
  7. Click Publish layout to save and apply the changes.
