Set permission for specific field

Hi all,

I created a user-defined field, and I only want few people can edit it, how can I do the setting?

Jira does not have field level security.

What you can do is move the edit into the workflow, so that instead of people being able to directly edit a field with an edit or by using the inline edit (remove the field from the "edit" screen), they have to click on a workflow transition.  You can protect transitions with conditions like "only people in group X can do this".
