Set a new issue type scheme as default ?

Is there a way to have any NEW project that gets created to use a custom "default issue type scheme"?  Right now it seems any project that gets created uses the "default issue type scheme" but is there a way to make a new one default?

The issue is our default issue type scheme has: Prog, Epic, Story, Task, Sub Task, Improvement, New Feature, Bug, Pothole, Doc:New, Doc:update, Article:New, Article:Update and Approval Required. I don't seem to be able to remove options from the default issue scheme.  I can create a NEW issue type scheme, but if users don't know about that the default gets used.

You can share the configuration with an existing project, so you can either create your own template project at you use as the shared project when creating a new one, or use one of your existing ones. Please note that this only applies to company-managed projects. Please have a look at this thread about the same question.
