Set Resolution Box on Board Not Saving

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
I have a project that has been set up with the simplified workflow. We are trying to use the statuses: "Done" and "Cancelled." We would like the resolution for these statuses to be set as "Done" or "Cancelled" but all the items in these are currently marked as "Unresolved"
When we go to board > configure and check the box that says "Set Resolution" the changes do not save. If we go back to the board and then back into the configuration the boxes are unchecked again. Do you have any idea why these check
