Server to cloud migration duration

Hi,

We are planning to migrate Jira Software, Confluence and Bitbucket Server to cloud in a client. They have 100-150 users, 7 plugins and 5000 issues more or less.

Do you know how long it could take the migration, please?

Thanks a lot.

From what I see, the timeline for the total migration effort could take weeks to a couple of months at most.  This effort includes:

  • evaluation of the seven plugins to see if there's a cloud equivalent
  • outline migration strategy (all-at-once vs. a couple at a time); you never mentioned how many projects/spaces/workspaces
  • attempt "dry-run" of migration on test cloud instance(s)
  • adjust runbook
  • perform live migration on production cloud instance(s)

Hope this helps!

As @Robert Wen_Cprime_ already suggested, migration effort (and success for that matter) greatly depends on configuration and customization.

Also check for mail handlers and custom scripting if any of that exists.
