Hello experts,
We are currently using a Standalone Server Licensed version. Our plan is to migrate to a newer Data-Center and clustered 2 Node Setup in a different Zone.
For example.
FQDN Jira.example.com
FQDN new zone: jira.globalservices.example.com
The current Server version is 8.13.10 LTR.
My plan would be for a seamless transition into the new zone: Install 8.13.11 LTR on the new nodes and activate my new DC license and import Database, settings and everything thats necessary from the single server node.
Would this be possible, or how should I approach this?
Should I first import everything on a single node on my different server and then add the second node afterwards?
@RVBund You should set up your single node first and then add the additional nodes. I would suggest just moving your current server to the new zone and then upgrading from there. You could always doa snap and then set it up in the new zone and adjust your config to get it to work. Here is some documentation on how to move from server to data center. https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/migrate-from-server-to-data-center-993929572.html
Hi and thanks for the fast feedback.
Does this mean, I can just enter the data center license on my new node and just import everything only on one node? Do I have to do the same thing on the second node after I finished the first one, or does it replicate all information from the first one?

@RVBund Yes, you can create your new node and get all old Jira content running on it and then enter in the data center license. Prior to adding the data center license key you will want to make sure that the Jira migration worked. After upgrading the single node you will have to create a shared directory that all nodes will be able to access. You can read about it here https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/set-up-a-jira-data-center-cluster-993929600.html
Once you have done that you can attach the node to a load balancer and begin adding additional nodes.
