Separate 2 different user groups from seeing each other's project in Jira Cloud

I'm trying to separate 2 different user groups from seeing each other's projects in Jira. I came across this earlier question https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/239252 but I cannot 'Add the group to the Global Permissions i.e jira-users'. So would like Atlassian to give suggestions on moving forward.

Assuming you are currently using the default scheme for permissions:

Remove jira-users from all roles in both projects
Put group A into the role of users in project 1
Put group B into the role of users in project 2
You'll need to work through any other groups and users to get them back into their projects
