Sending JIRA issues to Perforce

Deleted user
August 12, 2020

Hi,

Is there a way to send JIRA issues to Perforce automatically and storing them in specific Perforce folder? Via some script or external server?

I looked at ScriptRunner and REST API doc but i couldnt find any solution! Some help would be great?

Thanks,

ZK

What do you mean by "send and store"?  When you decide you need to send an issue over to Perforce, what are you looking for?

My initial guess is that you mean "Jira should build some text as a simple document, and tell Perforce to drop it into a particular directory, and add it as an item to be source controlled"

Is that right?

Hi Nic,

Yes indeed, something like that!

For instance, in a Workflow there is a Post Function when there is a transition change can trigger the function and send issues related to that project to Perforce in a simple text file.

Is that possible?

Ok, you will need to get one of the scripting or automation apps, and write some code as a post-function that can create a temporary file, transfer it over and add it in.
