Self-service Jira Agile board - Simplify workflow

Hello,

I would like my developer teams to create their own boards in JIRA Agile. We almost always use simplified workflow. To enable simplified workflow you need JIRA global admin access.

How do you allow for simplify workflow without delegating JIRA global admin access to all teams. I found this https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/171621 discussion that talks about more granular permissions. Is there any progress?

Is there some way to programmatically simplify the workflow? REST API? If so, I could create something that logs in as admin and executes this specific operation.

If it is only available to admins at the moment. And I must warn you, it is always best to leave it at that way. Workflows should be standardized and if you don't do that now, you may end up having 100 workflows all doing their own agile flows.

It is very hard to go back and we had to go in to some orgs and do just that!
