Selection turned off in basic search for items

Every time after I start Jira and want to search in the items / object schemas, the selection is gone. So I first have to go through the list of attributes and select the ones I use to search for specific items or items that are assigned to a user. This is very annoying.

In the screenshot I have turned them back on, but I don't want to go through the list every time I need to lookup an item.

Hello @Sander de Vries , your pushback is right: @Fabian Lim dashboard route is for Jira issue search and does not exist in Assets. And there is no setting for this, attribute selection either persists or something is wiping it

Do this first: try a different browser or a fresh profile. The most common cause of "resets every time I start Jira" is a browser or corporate policy clearing site data on exit (common on managed Edge and Chrome, and often switched on by an IT update, which would also explain "it worked before"). If your selection survives there, ask IT to exempt the Atlassian domain.

If it resets in every browser, it is a regression: raise it with Atlassian Support with your exact timeline, and search jira.atlassian.com for an existing bug on Assets search preferences to vote on before filing new.

Meanwhile, the reset-proof workaround: type, do not click. An AQL query like objectType = "Laptop" AND "Assigned to" = someUser reproduces your filtered search without touching the checkboxes, and saved AQL snippets paste in a second. Clicked filter state is fragile; typed queries are permanent.

My recommendation would be to create a dashboard with the filter results gadget and have the columns you need.  Make sure you have the right filters created.

This way you don't have select the columns you need when you do a search.

Thanks for your reaction. But that can't be a logical solution in my mind. It worked before and lately gotten worse. First I could tell there has been an update, because it resetted the search items. But now it resets every time I start Jira again. 

(This is in Assets b.t.w.) I'm not even sure if I can create a dashboard there
