Save an unsaved Comment upon Clicking a Transition Button

James McCulloch

My users regularly add an Issue Comment, then click a Transition button to move the issue to the next state.  They often forget to click the "Add" button on the comment to save the comment first. This results in their comments being lost.

Is there any way to either prompt them to save the comment first, or to autosave the comment when they click the Transition button?

I don't think this is possible without coding.

But if there will be regulary comment set before that transition, why not adding to that transition an empty screen (so it contains only the comment field). So the user can comment during that transition.

This works perfectly, thank you.
