Same User Name In Both Jira Instances

Goutham
April 15, 2013

Hi There,

I have a username as "gteja" whose full name in "gouthamteja" in source instance and username as "gteja" whose full name is "ganeshteja" in target instance. As the user name is already existing in the target instance I have not created the username. When I merged the source instance into target instance the issue assigned to gteja (gouthamteja) is assigned to gteja (ganeshteja) in the target instance.

That is the issue is assigned to the same username but to a different user as the username is same and the full name is different. If I delete the user, all the issues assigned to the user will be misplaced.

Kindly help me out in this issue.

Thanks In Advance,

Goutham...

Hi Goutham,

I recommend you to modify the previous user name to a different user name. JIRA use the username as the identifier instead of full name. Hence when your instance is merge JIRA will use the (ganeshteja).

Hope it helps.
