Roll-up calculated from the sub-tasks

Olivia February 7, 2024

In Jira Cloud Plans, is it possible to configure the roll-up in the timeline to be based on the start and end dates defined in the tasks, rather than one continuous line ?

Hello @Olivia

When you choose the roll-up option for the timeline you are specifying that you want the start and end date of a given line item to be set based on the earliest start date and the latest end date of its children. That would make one continuous bar for that line item.

Can you clarify what you are trying to get if not one continuous line?

Perhaps if you provide screen images that will help us understand your question.

Hi Trudy

It would be ideal if the roll-up was not continous but reflects the spaces where tasks are allocated, so in the screenshot the box marked in red would be blank.

Thanks

Olivia

The bars represent the time span from the start date to the end date, not just the time when work is happening. There is no functionality to support showing breaks or interruptions in the time span.
