Return the changed value in a multi list custom field

I have a multi list custom field.

Once a value is added to the list, I would like to receive the value.

1. How do I do that? what exactly should I write in the listener?
2. When do I receive this value? in a separated field ?

I am very new in script listener and I would appreciate if you could guide me
