Restricting access to an issue by Issue Type

Hi,

I know that, using Issue Security, you can restrict who can view tickets under a certain Project but can we do it at an Issue Type level?

We are using JIRA version: 4.4.5.

Not without issue security. You can maybe use the workflows at issue type level to set a specific security level.

Thanks. I'm not sure what you mean when you say that you can use workflows at issue type level - can you elaborate?

Define different workflows for the issuetypes and use the post function on 'Create' transition to set different security levels.

And by using the Post Function on the Create transition, will that ensure that every ticket created using that IssueType-Workflow will only be seen by those within the Security Scheme, even in a search?
