Hi,
Is there a way to restrict editing of only certain fields on issues? Example would be preventing certain users or groups from being able to edit the description field but still allow them to add/edit comments, work logs, etc...
I looked at permission schemes but can't see anything in there about restricting different fields.
Thanks
Kieran
Another workaround could be to delete those field from the edit issue screen and put them on a "global transition" that only certain groups can see. The transition wouldn't change the status but you can limit who can see it via "conditions"...
Another way could be to use the behaviours plugin:
https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.onresolve.jira.plugin.Behaviours
You can limit field visibility to groups, people etc...
