Are you referring to a single Space among many within a Jira instance? Or are you talking about the entire Jira instance?
When a single Space is deleted in Jira it goes into a Trash folder. It will be automatically deleted permanently after 60 days. Alternately an administrator can intentionally force the deletion earlier than that.
