Requesting help on creating issue in Jira from Java

I am a beginner and new to jira. As part of my project, I am required to connect to Jira from Java and create a sample issue without using CURL. Request your help on this regard. Thanks.

Err..wherever you like. It shows how to do it from Java. You can do it from Eclipse or your web app or whatever client you prefer!
