Request for Assistance: Jira Project-Specific Workflow Permissions

I want to grant a user the permission to edit workflows for a project in Jira Software. I am assigning this permission from the screen below.


However, the user I granted the permission to receives the following screen and is unable to edit the workflow.



How can I grant a user permission to edit workflows only in their own project? Could you please help me?

I see the workflow is shared by 2 projects. Shared workflows can't be edited by users with the "Edit Workflows" permission unless they have been assigned the Administer Jira global permission

Only workflows that are not shared can be edited this way as stated here: https://support.atlassian.com/jira/kb/use-the-edit-workflows-permission-in-company-managed-projects-in-jira-cloud/

The Edit Workflows permission in company-managed projects allows non-admins to edit workflows that are not shared with any other projects.

Shared workflows can't be edited by users with the "Edit Workflows" permission unless they have been assigned the Administer Jira global permission.

That said, your user either needs global permission or you can make a copy of the workflow that is only being used in your project of interest.
